the death/love parade music festival

Germany's Love Parade festival began in Berlin in 1989 as a one-day celebration of house and techno music, A music festival that turns into a tragic loss of nineteen revelers and left a multiple number of injured ones, last July 24 held in the German city of Duisburg, was originally supposed to host only 300,000 -- 1.4 million ended up attending.

"The Love Parade was always a peaceful and joyous party that will now forever be overshadowed. Out of respect for the victims, families and friends, we will discontinue the event," said organizer Rainer Schaller. "The Love Parade is no more." (via Reuters)

I love going to music festivals and it's devastating to know that such tragedy happens, maybe we can blame the festival organizers, the security, or we can simply blame ourselves or there's really no one to blame. Shit happens! but we must always remember that we are responsible for our safety 24/7.
