Below is an excerpt from a romantic read -Table for Two (Chapter 4: This Closure) by Marla Miniano. Somehow, It reminded me of someone or something, another used to be.
BUT ONE NIGHT, seven months and six days ago, you ask me to tell you the truth, and I did. The truth was this: I couldn't stop thinking about you and that kiss we shared once and never spoke of again. Every moment was a moment further from the one where I leaned towards you and you pulled me in close. Every thought of you brought back the moment, our moment- the feel of your lips brushing against mine for the first time, for the last time. The truth was, at that moment, we were caught at the same place, breathing in the same air, which was I couldn't understand how it meant the world to me while it meant nothing to you at all.
You looked at me for a long time before you finally said, "I'm sorry I even asked. I just wanted to make sure you were okay with this."
"With what?"
"I don't know, This."
You untangled your arm from mine and told me, "I'm sorry it meant something to you." I said, "I'm sorry it meant something to me, too."
Then after reading this, I ask myself, what's the deal with one sided-love? or just being one-sided. Why do people waltz in your life, swept you off your feet, show you sweetness and everything but in the end, it meant nothing to them?
I'm not bitter, I'm just saying! :D
